I use Bose ear buds and they really help make the music crisp and clear. I enjoy using this CD player at night to listen to soft music when I am going to sleep. I have not had any problem with this product as of yet, it was purchased in Dec. It helps to relax me and put me at ease at the end of a stressful day at work. The quality of the music is very good. and I have used it almost every night since I purchased it. I have replaced the batteries once since then.
I guess we've all gotten spoiled with the ipod and similar devices. It looks and feels "cheap" but I haven't had any problems with it (yet). I needed a player that would play audiobooks (CD's) for my daily commute via the bus, so after researching the few options available (there just aren't that many portable CD players made any more it seems) I settled on this one.I've been using it for a month now, and it's performed very well. There are a number of functions like turning the power off, or setting or playing from a bookmark, that are a lot more complex than they need to be. I like how it remembers where you left off (very important for audiobooks). and will start right up from there next time. The only real gripe I have with this thing is that I find it extremely counter-intuitive to use. And the "user manual" is horrible. In any case, I'm pleased with my purchase overall. There isn't another player that I've seen that I'd rather have, so I guess that's the bottom line.
CD and MP3 audio books both play flawlessly in the NF-340. There is about a 40 second delay when starting, but after that I have never noticed a "skip".
My first two players were from Jensen and Memorex. Both of these players had short battery life, ineffective vibration control, and did not remember the story location when turned off, except for the beginning of the track. The Sony NF-340 did everything I had hoped to find in a CD player.
I searched for a portable CD player to listen to audio books. The vibration control is flawless.
Batteries last for several books. I no longer use an external charger.
Best of all, the NF-340 remembers the exact location of the book when I turn it back on, so I don't have to re-listen to sections. I should have purchased Sony in the first place. The Memorex CD player produced random screeches that hurt my ears.
This is a very good machine.but, I use it in my backpack every morning and so many times the turn on key is so sensitive, the machine has been going for I don't know how long.so am running through batteries fast.but, all of the other qualities was just what I was looking for.
Portability-wise, it's a great item. Helps get back to where you had to stop it. A CDman with a radio is always a plus. I really like the "play where it stopped feature". Quality of sound won't really make a difference till you put on high-end stereo headphones.Otherwise, I'd recommend this item to anyone looking to go retro with CDs as that'll probably be what will happen with the MP3 players, Ipods and Zunes taking over everyone's headphones.Enjoy the Vintage. :)
